What's the difference between the 3? Is club like the least-competitive? Do I have to be really good to join varsity/intramural sports?

Varsity is for the entire school, where we are part of Division 1 of NCAA. This is the most intense and serious type of sports commitment. Club is the next level of competitiveness, as you still compete against other schools. Intramural sports are played by groups of Brown students forming teams and playing against other Brown students. Each type of sport has different levels of ability, but I think I've found and heard that you don't need to already be really good to join club or intramural, especially if you're willing to work Joining club and intramural sports are fun ways to meet new people and just get involved and be active. Hope this helps!
